Point West Designs, Inc. was established in 1995 by Gary Pike, its owner and principal design consultant. He quickly moved to establish the firm’s presence in the Sarasota community by participating in designer show houses and working with many not-for-profit organizations.  In 1998 Point West Designs was recognized by the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce as  “The Rookie Business of the Year”.   Since then, Point West Designs has achieved ever-increasing recognition from professional design organizations, publications, peers and clients.

Gary has been involved in design for the past 30 years, participating in hundreds of projects on Florida’s West Coast.  Working primarily in residential design, his firm has expanded, specializing in project management of the entire design and renovation process, providing his clients with a seamless, personalized service from conception to completion.

In addition to residential design, Point West Designs has consulted with and assisted in the implementation of many commercial projects including work with law and investment firms, showrooms, shopping centers and museums.  Special mention should be made of the interior design and execution of the Museum of Asian Art, which was later acquired by the Ringling Museum of Art and the Orange Dolphin Shopping Center, located in historic Burns Court.  Gary’s conception of the Orange Dolphin included well-known architect, Wm. Thorning Little.  Point West Designs provided the anchor for the Orange Dolphin, opening and operating “The Gallery”, a retail shop offering fine European antiques.

Gary Pike was raised and educated in a small town in central Illinois.  His Midwestern background shapes his personality and values.  Working with clients, he practices careful listening, with a strong sense of integrity and a genuine respect for their opinions, helping them to identify and implement their dreams.
